The Toyota Prius is still a hot model in both Japan and the United States at dealerships such as Seattle Toyota Dealerships and many others. The Prius is widely considered to be the best engineered and designed hybrid model, as Toyota has been manufacturing and selling this hybrid model for over 10 years and it was the first hybrid model to be offered to the global consumer market on a wide scale. Other competing models such as the Honda Accord Hybrid can be purchased from a Honda Birmingham dealership.

Even though in recently months there have been some questions about the reliability of the Prius in comparison to models sold at Honda Dealers MS, the model is still obviously a favorite for many Japanese and domestic consumers. The Prius had decreased sales of 2 percent in the United States, which is a smaller margin than can be expected when a vehicle has been the subject of several recalls. The Prius was the number one selling vehicle in Japan however for the month of November, and to top it off the vehicle was the number one most popular vehicle for 18 months straight prior to November.

Clearly the recall of the Prius has not affected Toyota’s Japanese sales as much as it has in the United States and in other markets. Japanese buyers are very loyal to the Toyota brand and the company has made major headway in fixing some of the problems that have lead to its defects being overlooked or brushed aside. The company continues to dominate what is becoming an increasingly competitive market to dominate with many new options becoming available recently. In Japan it is even more interesting that the Prius is not only the top selling hybrid vehicle, it is the top selling vehicle overall, which means that it is even more popular than less expensive models that are sold by Suzuki and other high quality Japanese competitors.

There could come a time in our near future when vehicles over at Honda St. Louis are powered by bundles of laptop batteries!  It might be difficult for some people to imagine that laptop batteries could ever power a vehicle and all of their elaborate functions, but Tesla already has their expensive roadsters driving around for the last year without any apparent problems.  Sure, the cars at Honda Dealers Kentucky will likely be a lot more affordable than the exotic roadsters that Tesla sells for $110,000 but they will probably not be as performance oriented as the roadster is either.  Tesla is partnering up with BMW, Daimler, and Toyota in the upcoming years but it has not been announced if Tesla and Honda Longview will be collaborating at all.

Some of the other electric cars on the market right now such as the Nissan leaf or Chevrolet Volt get their power from lithium ion batteries.  Tesla has proven that their laptop battery bundles are far more cost effective than the lithium ion battery packs plus this will have a huge impact on the laptop battery industry.  The Tesla Roadster uses 6,831 laptop batteries joined together into one unit to power their engine.  Tesla assures consumers that their way is more cost effective because right now it will cost around $20,000 to replace a lithium ion car battery.

Some engineers feared that hot spots could develop within the battery pack because there are so many units packed so closely together.  But, Tesla’s cars have been driving around for the last year without any problems.  That proof pushed Toyota to partner up with Tesla to help create their electric RAV4 that will be released in 2012.  Daimler is going to put Tesla’s battery power packs into their Smart EV models as well as their Mercedes-Benz A-Class vehicles over in Europe.  Lastly, BMW has also created a partnership with Tesla.

Future Cars What Will the Future Bring?

Auto brands such as Tacoma Toyota Dealerships might want you to believe that in the near future all vehicles will be electrically powered.  There is no way that that can possibly happen given a few key points right now.  Even some of the higher-ups over at Portland Honda are banking their efforts in hybrid vehicles rather than purely electric vehicles because EVs are not ready to be the dominant vehicle design right now.  One of the major hold ups when it comes to electric cars is the cost of the battery packs as well as the overall size and weight of them.  The cars at Honda Santa Barbara with traditional internal combustion engines weigh far less than any hybrid model, and that helps improve gas usage.

Another problem that electric car proponents keep conveniently forgetting is how taxing electric vehicles are going to be on our aging electric grid.  The idea here is that people will be charging their vehicles at night when the electric grid is the least busy, but there is no guarantee of that.  Some analysts equate the energy required to fully charge an electric car is equivalent to the entire amount of energy a home uses in a day.  Anyone who has lived through the rolling brown-outs in Southern California are well aware of how annoying those can be.  Electric vehicles are being marketed in California, the same place with an unstable supply of energy to keep those electric vehicles charged.

However, like any other vehicle out on the automotive market this hybrid does have a few draw backs. This includes engine power. While the Toyota Prius does offer you a zippy ride it does not have the raw power you want. Another seat back to this hybrid is the driving position it offers. While it is a comfortable ride it is also a weird way to drive. This hybrid does redeem it’s self in the cargo space it offers. While it is not an SUV the Toyota Prius does offer the most cargo room for it’s class.

I wouldnt recomend this hybrid for first time buyers due to the 23,000 starting price, but I would recomend it for small families. It is also the vehicle for any one who is looking for a great ride to and from work every day, and this hybrid wont break the bank at the gas pumps.
